Cardiology

Our cardiologists, aka heart doctors, help prevent heart disease through checkups and, if indicated, screening tests (e.g. bloodwork and electrocardiograms). They treat symptoms of heart conditions or heart diseases with medications and other modalities. These diseases can include:

Hypertension (high blood pressure) and high cholesterol.
Heart disease (or coronary artery disease), when blood vessels that bring nutrients to your heart are blocked.
Heart failure, when your heart can’t pump blood properly.
Abnormal heart rhythm diseases, when your heart beats too fast, too slow, or irregularly.
Heart valve problems, when your heart valves do not open or close properly.

Our Cardiology Team

Ahmed A. Harhash, MD

Ahmed Harhash, MD is a Board Certified Cardiologist and Internist. He completed residency training in internal medicine, followed by fellowship training in cardiology. In the past 8 years, he has been seeing patients with various medical and cardiac conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks, abnormal heart rhythms, and congestive heart failure. He is currently an assistant professor at UVM Larner College of Medicine. Dr. Harhash has a passion for heart diseases prevention, promoting healthy active lifestyle, healthy diet, and physical wellness.
