Infections are common, often disruptive, and can be very serious. Emphasis is placed on prevention, appropriate diagnosis and judicious use of antibiotics.

Madiha Tahir, MD

Madiha Tahir is an Infectious Diseases physician at Champlain Valley Physician Hospital, Plattsburgh, NY. She was born and raised in Pakistan and graduate of Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan and completed her residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Indiana University. She moved to Vermont in 2019, and started her job as an infectious diseases consultant at CVPH amidst the COVID 19 pandemic. Her additional interest focuses on hospital acquired infections and Infection prevention.

Christopher J. Grace, MD

Chris Grace graduated from New York Medical College in 1979. He did his internal medicine residency training at St Vincent’s Hospital in NYC, followed by a year as the chief medical resident. His infectious diseases subspecialty training was done at St. Frances Hospital in Hartford, CT. He worked for 30 years at UVMMC as an infectious disease specialist, with 22 of those years as ID section chief. He was a full Professor of Medicine, teaching in the UVM College of Medicine and retired in 2017. He currently volunteers at the Open Door Clinic in Middlebury, VT and with the UVM Extension Program providing medical care to farm workers and the uninsured.
